Webtech Labels, a division of Mumbai, India-based a division Huhtamaki PPL, is registering a rapid rate of growth. Headed by Amar Chhajed, the company has plants in all regions of India, as Huhtamaki Group is a global specialist in packaging for food and drink markets with a network of 74 manufacturing sites and additional 24 sales-only offices in 34 countries. Huhtamaki Group has approximately 17,000 employees. In 2016, net sales totaled EUR 2.9 billion.

Webtech has announced the purchase of an Omet iFlex label press, after seeing it for the first time at Labelexpo India. The press has been installed at the Sikkim unit of Huhtamaki PPL-Webtech Labels. Commenting on the installation of the Omet iFlex, Chhajed says, “With regards to the new Omet iFlex installation at our plant in Sikkim, I can confirm that we are satisfied with the overall installation and support provided by Omet and Weldon team in India. Especially the extraordinary effort from Omet to meet our timelines is highly appreciated. We are looking forward to running the machine at its optimum capacity and am sure it will live up fully to the confidence and trust we have placed in it.”

The iFlex label press is designed to be simple to use with quick set-up times, aiming at simplifying the printer’s work in reaching the highest print quality. A laser-assisted pre-register and register setting device speeds up the machine’s set-up and rebooting after job changes. A short web path results in savings in the start-up phase (waste measured is below the transition paper between two print runs). According to Weldon Celloplast, the company that represents Omet in India and handled the sale to Webtech, “The iFlex is the only machine to have all the impression rollers Direct Drive with obvious benefits in print quality and waste savings. The machine handles a wide range of sizes, from 5.5″ to 18” for small spending in printing plates production. The iFlex is designed to work continuously, without maintenance stops. It is a robust, silent press, meant for intensive work cycles and performance, and consistent results.”

Pawandeep Sahni, director at Weldon Celloplast, says, “Webtech is a prestigious customer. A lot of evaluation has gone into selection of the iFlex by Webtech. It is only when they were convinced that the equipment is value for money, that they acquired the iFlex.”
