Anderson & Vreeland Inc. (A&V), a manufacturer and distributor of flexographic print technologies, equipment, and supplies, showcased two newly-released pieces of platemaking equipment at Labelexpo Americas: The Orbital XP for water-wash and the AVxpose for thermal platemaking.

The Orbital XP is a multi-functional plate processor available for processing water-wash plates up to 25″ x 30″. It is now PLC controlled and fully automatic with a raising and lowering washout lid. With a fully automated LED touch panel display, it is even simpler to use than before. It features an orbital washout, dual exposure section and an added detac combo drawer.

In addition, the product has a heat/fume exhaust outlet for outside venting, a stainless-steel washout section to prevent corrosion, a dual orbital-action platen for an efficient washout, vacuum pump and electronic solid-state ballasts. A thermostat controlled three drawer dryer uses forced hot air for efficient plate drying. This versatile, stack-style processor is the perfect solution for crowded working areas. It is also compatible with Anderson & Vreeland’s CL50 Whirl-a-way unit which offers extra water filtering and particle separation.

Plus, the all new AVXpose 3648 is an exposure unit that is part of A&V’s thermal plate processing collection and is on display at Labelexpo, alongside XSYS’s ThermoFlexX30 digital imager and Xpress thermal processor. The AVXpose is a PLC controlled, high output exposure unit with dual post exposure and detac combo drawer designed for digital imaging and the thermal market. It also uses a fully automated LED touch panel display and operation. The new clamshell exposure lid and liquid cooled exposure bed offers consistent exposure bed temps for optimal plate exposure. Users can customize for different bed temperatures as needed, which will solve any overheating and hot spot issues they may be currently experiencing in their thermal platemaking process.

Both pieces of equipment are made and assembled in the United States at Anderson & Vreeland’s Bryan, OH, engineering facility. Partner representatives from XSYS North America and Toyobo MC Corporation were also on-hand showcasing their plate collections and answering any questions attendees might have. Anderson & Vreeland is the exclusive North America distributor of Toyobo’s water-wash Cosmolight and Printight CTP plate collection, as well as, XSYS nyloflex and nyloprint solvent and thermal photopolymer plates.
