The Fira Barcelona Gran Via was buzzing, September 16-19, as Labelexpo Europe 2025 made its highly anticipated debut in Spain. The energy was palpable – new city, new venue, and a new era for the show has begun.
And the numbers back it up. This was the largest Labelexpo Europe in history – over 43,000 net square meters of exhibitor space and more than 37,000 attendees from around the globe. Decision-makers came out in force, with an 18% jump in C-level attendance, while visitors from the Americas surged, up 49% from South America and 28% from North America compared to 2023.
Andy Thomas-Emans, strategic director at Labelexpo Global Series, says, “Breaking records in both exhibition space and attendance demonstrates the industry’s continued growth and the global appeal of the new location. We are particularly encouraged by the significant increase in international participation, especially from the Americas, which validates our commitment to creating a truly global platform for the labels and package printing industry.”
Walking the halls, one thing was clear: the buzzwords weren’t just buzz. Automation and sustainability were everywhere, woven into nearly every press demo, workflow presentation, and product launch. For both flexo and digital, the focus was on smarter, faster, and greener. Cloud integration and AI-assisted controls were no longer future talk – they were running live on the show floor. Several digital press manufacturers unveiled systems designed to lower the barrier to digital entry for converters, while suppliers showcased scalable solutions for hybrid production environments.
Labelexpo Europe 2025 wasn’t just about technology – it was about the people and the experience. The show unveiled a host of new features to make the week more dynamic and connected.
A sleek new mobile app helped visitors navigate the vast halls, while upgraded rest and work areas gave attendees room to recharge and network. The Gold Concierge Club catered to VIP guests, and the new Pulse Arena became a hub of ideas, with keynotes, Q&As, and industry panels covering everything from folding cartons to AI integration.
