Channeled Resources Group (CRG), a manufacturer of release liners, thermal labels, and pressure-sensitive roll label stock, as well as one of the world’s largest suppliers of reprocessed, coated, treated, and laminated papers and films, has shared that Chairman Calvin Frost made the winning bid on the featured charity auction piece at the 2026 AWA Global Release Liner Summit in Amsterdam.

The auction supported Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders and featured Bonsai da Vida (“Bonsai of Life”), an original artwork created from release liner, matrix, and packaging waste. The piece was donated as part of the Summit’s charitable initiative, which raised €8,500 in support of the global humanitarian organization.

For Frost, the piece represented more than artwork.

“It’s in my DNA to support responsible management of release liner matrix and packaging waste,” said Frost. “This piece tells that story in a powerful way. I had to have it because it reflects something CRG has believed in for a long time, finding better, more responsible ways to manage materials at the end of their life.”

As a third-generation, family-owned company, CRG has long supported practical, sustainable solutions for release liner and packaging waste, helping customers explore alternatives that reduce landfill disposal and support more responsible materials management.

“The AWA Global Release Liner Summit brings together people who care deeply about the future of this industry,” Frost added. “We were proud to be part of an effort that supported a great cause while also spotlighting what’s possible when sustainability and creativity come together.”
