Cartes has announced the installation of a GT360 line at STAATS.LABEL, the label division of Graphische Betriebe STAATS GmbH. The German company operates on two shifts and specializes in label production for the industrial, beverage, food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors.

The move to Cartes represents a strategic investment aimed at increasing capacity for labels with strong visual impact.

The customer’s specific configuration stands out, with integrating flexo coating, a LOL (Label On Label) application unit, a spot coating module, Jet D-Screen digital foil application, a cast-and-cure (cast gold) oven, and a semi-rotary diecutting unit.

The Cartes GT360 enables STAATS.LABEL to produce highly complex labels in a single pass and complements the company’s production setup. The converter’s production floor already includes digital, offset, letterpress, screen, and flexo printing, as well as numerous converting and embellishment techniques.

Company reaction

“Serving complex and demanding sectors, we must respond to growing demand for quality, productivity, and creativity – both in small batches and in large volumes,” says Rainer Staats, CEO of Graphische Betriebe STAATS GmbH. “Cartes GT360 is a strategic investment that allows us to streamline workflow, reduce lead times, and support our customers’ supply chains with even more striking labels.”

One of the key features of the Cartes GT360 platform is its modularity, which enables inline integration of screen printing, hot foil stamping, flexo printing and coating, lamination, semi-rotary and laser diecutting, Label On Label, windowing, and multi-level digital embellishment to create spot coatings, high-build effects and Braille, foils, and 3D cast-and-cure effects. All installed GT360 lines, including the one at STAATS.LABEL, can be upgraded by adding further modules. This will meet future production needs while protecting the investment.

“With the arrival of the CARTES GT360 machine, we are taking an important step to further expand our high-impact label offering, combining creativity, quality, and productivity,” adds Staats.

“This new machine opens up entirely new creative dimensions for us,” remarks Gabrielle Staats, CEO. “The ability to combine numerous finishing processes within a single system optimizes both our workflows and the results. In particular, the exceptional height of the embellishments creates a level of presence and perceived value in the labels that we have not achieved before. This combination of visual impact and premium appearance makes our solutions unique and gives us a clear competitive advantage in the market.”
