DIGI Labels, a label converter in Mullingar, Ireland, has achieved the British Retail Consortium Global Standards (BRCGS) certification for Packaging Materials, for both direct and indirect food contact. BRCGS is recognized globally as one of the most rigorous standards for manufacturers serving the food industry. The news is welcomed by DIGI customers in the food industry, as it affirms a steadfast commitment to the highest standards of quality, safety, hygiene, and operational excellence in manufacturing self-adhesive labels.

DIGI Labels was established in 1986 and is a family-owned, Irish business. The certification follows strict audits at the company’s label production facility in Mullingar, County Westmeath. The facility produces labels for customers across the food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, logistics and cosmetic industries. It is one of three locations in the DIGI Group across the island of Ireland.

The company, which has already grown its staff by 56% in just four years, remains dedicated to ongoing improvement and growth, with more investment and certifications in the plans. In fact, it was approved for membership of Guaranteed Irish just last month.

“We are thrilled to have achieved the BRCGS certification,” says Declan Boran, general manager of DIGI Labels. “Consumer safety and protection is paramount. We understand that our customers need to ensure all points in their products’ supply chain meet rigorous standards. This achievement helps to provide that reassurance.”

Jennifer Keogh, commercial manager, adds, “The BRCGS direct food contact accreditation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. It shows our commitment to providing our customers with the highest quality products. We will continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of our operations.”

“This certification not only demonstrates our commitment to excellence but also gives our customers confidence that our labelling solutions meet the most stringent international standards for food contact packaging materials,” concludes Kevin McGoldrick, sales manager.
