General Data Company, a manufacturer, coater, and provider of products and solutions for labeling, barcoding, RFID, data management, and equipment service, has announced that it has acquired International Label Manufacturing of Terre Haute, IN, USA. International Label Manufacturing (ILM) is a label converter and commercial printer specializing in flexographic, digital and offset printing technologies for producing custom labels, tags, marketing materials and forms.

ILM is a woman-owned manufacturing business certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. ILM was founded in 1985 in Terre Haute by Cecelia Myers, who brought her daughters Laurie Taylor and Lisa Gonzales into the business in 1992. Cecelia sold the business to her daughters in 2012, and they have since grown the business into a custom label manufacturer trusted by some of the largest distributors in the industry. Taylor and Gonzales are active members of the Women in Manufacturing (WIM) trade association.

With this acquisition, General Data will expand its customer base in the industries and markets across the US that International Label Manufacturing currently serves. ILM will continue to operate as a division of General Data out of its Terre Haute facility with Lisa and Laurie continuing in their leadership positions.

“ILM is a great addition for General Data’s efforts to expand our label business in the distributor channel,” says Peter Wenzel, president and chief executive officer of General Data. “Lisa, Laurie, and the entire ILM team have done an outstanding job over the years of putting their customers first, and I’m excited to see how they can build on their success with General Data’s expanded products and resources now available to them. ”

“I am looking forward to the new opportunities that this acquisition will give us,” states Taylor, president of ILM. “We have been a strong player in our field for many years, and this will enable us to offer a wider range of products and services to our clients, including an extensive stock label catalog.”

“I’m very excited about the future of International Label Manufacturing and the growth potential that being part of General Data offers us,” comments Lisa Gonzales, VP of ILM. “It’s great for our customers, our employees and their families.”

Financial details have not been disclosed. Both companies are privately held.
