Herma will showcase a range of sustainable self-adhesive materials and digital tools at Interpack 2026, with a focus on helping converters and brand owners meet the requirements of the EU’s upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

The company’s Self-adhesive Materials division will make its first independent appearance at the show (Hall 8A, Stand D11), emphasizing the growing role of labels in improving recyclability and supporting circular packaging systems. Key provisions of the PPWR are expected to take effect beginning August 2026, increasing pressure across the packaging value chain.

A central highlight of theHerma exhibit is the new GreenGuide, an interactive digital tool designed to help users identify suitable self-adhesive materials based on recyclability, material compatibility, and regulatory requirements.

“Our aim is to make the complexity resulting from the PPWR manageable,” says Harald Wallner, director of international sales at Herma. “With the GreenGuide, we provide transparency and highlight solutions that can be implemented today.”

HERMA will also feature its 72Hpw pressure-sensitive adhesive, which has been certified for recycling compatibility in multiple material streams, including PET and HDPE. The adhesive supports clear-on-clear applications while meeting industrial recycling requirements.

Additional technologies on display will include linerless labeling solutions, such as Herma’s InNo-Liner, designed to reduce material usage and eliminate liner waste, as well as compostable self-adhesive materials suitable for both industrial and home composting applications.

According to Herma, these solutions demonstrate how labels can play a key role in enabling more sustainable packaging designs — whether through recyclability, material reduction, or alternative end-of-life options.
