HP is using the Dscoop Edge Rockies conference to unveil a series of new press technologies, workflow innovations and automation tools aimed at helping print service providers improve productivity and profitability in increasingly complex production environments.

Among the announcements is the launch of the HP Indigo 7K+ Digital Press, new workflow and automation capabilities within HP PrintOS, and the introduction of automated mobile robots (AMRs) designed specifically for print production environments.

The company also marked a major milestone in digital packaging with the 100th installation of the HP Indigo 200K Digital Press, highlighting continued growth in digital labels and flexible packaging production.

“As digital print scales to meet new demands, our customers are no longer buying presses alone — they’re investing in outcomes: predictable productivity and speed at scale,” says Haim Levit, senior vice president and division president, HP Industrial Print. “At Dscoop Edge Rockies, we’re showing how our commitment to Nonstop Digital Printing connects press innovation, intelligent workflows and AI-driven reliability across the entire production lifecycle.”

HP Launches Indigo 7K+

HP introduced the HP Indigo 7K+ Digital Press, expanding the company’s A3 commercial print portfolio and reinforcing its strategy around “nonstop digital printing.”

Built on the widely installed Indigo 7X00 platform, the new press adds AI-enabled automation tools and enhanced operational efficiency designed to simplify production and improve economics for mid-volume print environments.

The system also introduces a new ECO Print Mode, a cost-efficient four-color printing option that uses thinner layers of ink for text-heavy or less image-sensitive applications.

“Our nonstop digital printing journey continues at full speed,” states Noam Zilbershtain, vice president and general manager of HP Indigo. “With the introduction of the HP Indigo 7K+ Digital Press, we are strengthening our commitment to the commercial A3 market while accelerating momentum across commercial B2, labels and flexible packaging.” HP Dscoop_Media Alert FINAL

Early user feedback has been positive. Richard Smith, partner and general manager of Xerographics Digital Printing, said the system delivers the flexibility and performance needed to meet modern print demands.

“We anticipate using ECO mode for at least 50% of our total HP Indigo 7K+ production volume,” Smith said. “The technology aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation and delivering exceptional quality and efficiency to our customers.” HP Dscoop_Media Alert FINAL

Automation and Robotics Enter the Print Floor

As part of its “Nonstop Digital Printing” vision, HP also announced the expansion of its collaboration with MoviGo Robotics, introducing automated mobile robots designed to streamline material handling inside print production environments.

HP will now sell and support these print-focused AMRs directly, enabling automated transport of pallets, carts and racks across production floors. The lineup includes solutions for HP Indigo sheetfed presses as well as label and packaging web press environments.

“Adopting robotics early has allowed us to scale smarter, improve flow and stay ahead as a modern, data-driven print business,” said Adam Carnell, CEO of Bluetree Group.

PrintOS Marks 10 Years with New AI Capabilities

HP also used the event to mark 10 years of HP PrintOS, which now connects thousands of devices worldwide and provides data-driven production management tools for print providers.

A key update is the commercial availability of HP Nio, an AI-powered production intelligence solution that allows operators to interact with print data through a conversational interface.

“For years our customers have told us that printing itself is no longer the challenge — it’s managing the complexity around it,” said Diana Pascual Soldevilla, general manager of HP Industrial Print software and solutions. “With HP PrintOS and HP Nio, we’re turning data into clarity and helping teams act faster with greater control.” HP Dscoop_Media Alert FINAL

Christopher Burnley, CEO of Corefact, described the system as “a game changer,” noting that users can ask operational questions and receive real-time production insights almost instantly. HP Dscoop_Media Alert FINAL

Digital Labels and Packaging Continue Expanding

HP also highlighted the continued growth of its Indigo label and packaging platform, noting that the HP Indigo 200K Digital Press has now surpassed 100 installations worldwide.

The milestone reflects increasing adoption of digital production models that support shorter runs, multiple SKUs and faster response times for brand owners.

HP also announced enhancements to its HP Site Flow workflow platform and a new collaboration with GoMake, an AI-assisted quotation and production management system designed to help printers and converters respond more quickly to customer requests and optimize production planning.

Together, the developments reflect HP’s broader strategy of connecting presses, workflow automation and AI-driven production intelligence into a unified digital print ecosystem.
