UK label converter Piroto Labeling, based in Northampton, has installed a Mark Andy Evolution Series E5 flexographic press, expanding production capacity and supporting growth in several niche label markets.

The new E5 joins two Mark Andy Performance Series P5 presses already in operation at the company’s facility. According to Piroto managing director Andy Clarke, the investment continues the converter’s long-standing relationship with Mark Andy and supports the company’s focus on specialized label applications.

“For us, it’s about building long-term working partnerships where trust and collaboration come first,” Clarke says.

The Evolution Series E5 is configured with both LED/UV and hot-air drying, allowing Piroto to produce labels using water-based inks for direct food-contact applications. The press runs at speeds up to 170 m/min and includes turn bars for delamination/relamination and cold foil capability, enabling the production of complex label constructions.

Founded in London in 1973 and relocated to Northampton in 1979, Piroto has developed expertise in specialty labeling applications, including traceability tags, food labeling, and variable-data solutions. Over the years, the company has expanded its capabilities with investments in digital inkjet integration and laminating systems to support multi-layer and peel-and-reveal label formats.

Mark Andy says the installation reflects Piroto’s strategy of combining technical expertise with production flexibility.

With the addition of the Evolution Series E5, Piroto says it is positioned to meet increasing demand while maintaining its focus on specialized labeling solutions.
