The new item is part of the Spinnaker Trimless offering and is a rare find in today’s labeling market. It is designed to be used for shipping labels, print-and-dispense, food and beverage, health and beauty, pharmaceutical, and medical/glove-friendly applications.
 
“Customers have been asking for thermal transfer with a fan-foldable liner for some time as there are not many options on the market today,” said Brian Copeland, Product Manager, Spinnaker Specialty Roll Label. “This item solves the most common issues faced with fan-folding — and it’s easy to buy.”
 
Sold as Spinnaker product no.50179, the solution addresses label curling and lay-flat/stacking challenges typical of fan-folded applications. It includes a 3.0-mil premium coated paper (45# CTT), a general-purpose acrylic adhesive (XYZ), and a 50# bleached, calendered Kraft liner (50#).
 
The facestock offers excellent thermal transfer imaging with a wide range of ribbons, and superior flexographic printability. The adhesive features ultimate adhesion to polypropylene, polyethylene and glass and has open time for repositionability, as well as a stable, flat release for reliable converting. The heavier liner delivers higher tensile and tear properties for superior fan-folding performance compared to traditional 40# liners.
 
Purchase minimums are just one roll. Rolls are 3-inches wide and are available with 5,000-feet of material or more.
